Powell’s Books adds “book search” by Google.

One of the remaining reasons I got to Amazon’s site at all is for the book preview feature, allowing me a look at an excerpt, how the book is laid out, etc.  I was pleased to see today that Powell’s now has a similar feature; here’s where I found it, under the listing for Bernhard’s Frost.  Another good motivator to dump the corporate behemoths and buy independent.

  1. Thanks for noticing, but I have some (moderately) bad news. That feature has been pulled. It is set to go live in a few days here and it got put up accidentally. It will be back very soon, though, we are just tying up the last loose ends.

I’ll try to let you know when the Google Book Search is back up and running.

    Thanks again. CJ (Powells.com)
